Restored for the commissioning buyer in 2021 by Paradise Motors of Atlanta, GA / San Jose, Costa Rica, this truck is powered by a Series III Stage One 3.5L V8 with an LT95 four-speed manual gearbox and dual range transfer case. Already an upgrade over the original 2.25L four cylinder, the Stage One V8 was converted to Holley Sniper 550-511 electronic fuel injection in November, 2022 at a cost of $10k. All the visual charm of a gritty early Series II, but powerful enough for truly spirited driving!
The 2021 restoration included refinishing the truck in appealing semi-gloss green, reupholstering the interior, and rebuilding the driveshaft, transfer case and rear differential. The starter, wiring harness and electrical components were replaced, the 16” steel wheels were refurbished and wrapped in Mickey Thompson Baja MTZ tires, and the tan canvas top was replaced. Features include a steel front bumper, folding side steps, a hood-mounted spare, clevis-pin hitch, rear mud flaps, taillight guards, and inward facing rear bench seats (also reupholstered).
As great to drive as it is to look at – the right choices were made on this one!
